THE BMC BUILDING

Designed by Frederick William Stevens, the building has a remarkable 235 feet tall front tower. Since it is an administrative building, it has been out of bounds for heritage enthusiasts who may have wanted to explore its architecture. But now here is an opportunity to go on a guided tour through this magnificent building.

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, in collaboration with the BMC, has introduced a heritage walk through the premises. Curated by Mumbai-based Khaki Tours, the walk traverses more than 100 years of history and the details of the grand architecture. “The tour is a marriage between history and civic governance,” said Bharat Gothoskar, founder of Khaki Tours. The walk through the building gives people a chance to see up close the offices where the decisions about the city’s welfare are taken, he said.

THE INDO-GOTHIC structure of the building can be seen.

After a surge in Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra education minister Varsha Gaikwad issued an order promoting all students from Class 1 to Class 8 without conducting exams recently.

This week, Gaikwad also issued an order to promote students of Classes 9 and 11 without an examination. However, the decision regarding Classes 10 and 12 is still pending. Dinkar Patil, chairman of MSBSHSE said that the board has issued hall tickets to all students of Class 10 and Class 12

Now there are some hurdles in online form of exam the government is saying the board does not have enough infrastructures to conduct online examinations.

We should understand that students have been taught through online form and they complain they have not understood the concepts how they would have learned through offline mode.

This issue got more power when a student said that " I know to play PUBG game online then take me in Army.

REASONS WHY EXAMS SHOULD BE ONLINE

1. Students have face difficulties in concentrating over a mobile screen or a desktop          and have not understood all the parts.

2.  Covid-19 situation is not good in the states and even Maharashtra is in weekend             lockdowns.

3. No practical exams have been held and students are expected to write experiments        without it.

4. Providing a health insurance to every student is not possible.

SUGESSIONS TO GOVERNMENT

There are many IT HUBS with their help take online exams and in rural areas take it offline and if any student is unable to give it online he can opt for offline.

OR

postpone the exams

All students circulate this article towards the education ministers.
